How do the “flying” magic tricks work?

wires
It’s against the magicians code for me to tell you!
wires + a crane or helicopter
With magic, obviously
probably wires
That depends on the levitation effect.
If the performer is on the street, and only ‘levitating’ a few inches off of the ground, such as David Blaine, then they are more than likely using the “Balducci Levitation” (pronounced Baal Doochie)
In which the performer requires NO setup, and no wires.
If they are “flying” several feet in the air, or such, it is a much more complicated set up.
I suggest you google John Gaughan Patent. (David Copperfields Flying Illusion)
